El Efecto de Edad Relativa consiste en confundir desempeño actual con capacidad potencial para el fútbol y se debe a que, por una cuestión de estado madurativo, los niños nacidos en primer semestre del año se han desarrollado más y pueden, por tanto, demostrar más habilidad física, técnica, táctica y psicológica que los de segundo semestre. Eso da lugar a pérdida de talento. Analizamos toda la cantera masculina del Real Madrid CF para comprobar si se da este fenómeno y con qué margen cuentan para corregirlo.
